Asia Math Engineering Challenge 2018
Towards a SMART NATION, SMART ASIA
5th – 9th June 2018, Singapore
17 youth ambassadors of Cambridge International School of Cambodia (CISC) will join the camping trip of Asia Math Engineering Challenge (AMEC) 2018. The five-day challenge will be conducted from 5th to 9th June 2018 in Singapore and will be participated by about 100 international students from other Asian countries. Participants will see how smart cities and our urban environment run hand in hand, and what technology can do to improve our quality of lives. Through collaboration, participants can come up with world changing solutions.
“Forming future leaders and entrepreneurs is the ultimate goal of our academic programmes. AMEC 2018 will develop effective leadership skills,” said Mr. Roy Meng Chy, CEO of Cambridge Cambodian School Group (CCSG).
Nikky, a grade 6 student, who is very keen about the trip, says “When I go to AMEC, I am looking forward to be doing a lot of activities physically and mentally. I am also excited about discovering new things that I will surely enjoy like building robots. And the trips are going to be amazing. Lastly, I also hope to make new friends. I can’t wait!.”
Ms. Lilet, CISC principal and the group leader, said “AMEC is one of the most anticipated school events this year. This conference will bring out the best of our students in terms of critical thinking, creativity, innovation, socialization, and independence as well. Way to go, Cambridge ISC!”
About AMEC 2018
The camping challenge is organized by Youth Ambassadors (YA) in partnership and cooperation with NullSpace Science Center, National University of Singapore and The Girls’ Brigade Campsite. It encompasses robotics workshop, robotics competition, challenging scientific activities as well as team bonding activities, to make friends of students from all over the region. The robotics competition encourages participants to design and conceive innovative solutions to challenging tasks that will only be revealed during the competition. Students are expected to work in a team to accomplish the tasks in a specific timeframe. AMEC will provide students with opportunities to develop their creative thinking abilities, problem solving skills, and teamwork.
